Coral.co.uk British Masters Poker Tour returns in 2010
Leading online bookmaker Coral.co.uk is delighted to announce its highly successful British Masters Poker Tour will return in 2010.
Following its successful debut in 2009, the British Masters Poker Tour, which appeals to all budgets and from grass roots players to seasoned UK professionals, will follow the same popular format and include six events, hosted in Gala Casinos across the UK.
Each venue will also host two side events in addition to the centrepiece main event. The buy-ins at each festival will be £500+50 main event buy-in, with £200+20 and £100+10 side events.
The 2010 tour kicks off in Bristol on 7 May, hosted by Gala Casino Harbourside. Boasting one of the best card rooms in the south of England, the 140-seat capacity Gala Harbourside hosted the final event of the 2009 tour.
Players will have plenty of opportunity to play online satellites and qualifiers for all the events at http://www.coralpoker.co.uk/, http://www.galapoker.co.uk/ and http://www.eurobetpoker.com/ along with other live qualifiers in Gala Casinos throughout the country. Online qualifiers start immediately and details can be found on the official website in the ‘Tournament’ section of http://www.britishmasterspokertour.co.uk/.
The winner of each main event, plus the best overall player (based on tour winnings) and best online qualifier (based on points) will automatically qualify for a special one table play-off to win the British Masters Poker Tour 2010 title as well as a £10,000 sponsorship package for 2011.
Once again, Coral.co.uk is teaming up with popular online poker community http://www.aworldofpoker.com/ who will provide forum updates and live video streaming through www.thenutz.tv/live, which during the 2009 tour events averaged over 20,000 views.
Mark O’Donnell, Head of Casino and Poker for Coral.co.uk, said: “We were so thrilled that the 2009 tour was so popular and developed such a following that we’re delighted to announce the dates for 2010. They’re fantastic events and I love being part of them.”
O’Donnell continued: “We’re kicking off in Bristol this year and as it’s one of the best card rooms in the country and is packed out every night, we’re expecting it’ll be a sell-out. We’re keeping the £500 main event as we know that’s what the players really like about the tour. We’re really looking forward to getting the 2010 events underway and seeing all the familiar faces and friends soon.”
2009 CBMPT champion and sponsored Coral.co.uk player, Mark Trett, said: “It’s fantastic to have another professional poker tour in the UK where you can play for five figure sums and be part of a European ranking event. It’s a great platform for the good local players to dip their toe in and mix with the big boys. I’ll be attending all of the main events and as many of the side events as possible.”
